Meet New York Immigration Lawyer Brad Bernstein from The Law Offices of Spar & Bernstein, P.C. located in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Hi Brad – how long have you been handling immigration in NY and NYC?

I started working in this office in September of 1993, right after I graduated from Brooklyn Law School. But I was admitted to practice law in New York in January of 1994.

What types of cases do you handle most often? What are your favorite types of cases? Least favorite?

I’ve handled mostly immigration cases. Marriages to American citizens, deportations, green cards, work visas, and labor certifications. Every type of case imaginable. In fact, I would say there’s not a single type of fact pattern I haven’t seen.

But in recent years, I’ve pulled back from the actual practicing of cases and concentrated on overseeing the overall business, building the firm into the best it can be. That doesn’t mean I’m not actively involved. I still do face-to-face consultations all day long, dozens every week, and appear daily on my own immigration advice radio show, The Immigration Link.

As for my favorite cases, I absolutely love the ones where people come to see me with no hope whatsoever, who are totally dejected, who have these grim faces, but then leave my office with nothing but smiles, saying “Thank you, thank you,” every step of the way out the door. I can’t tell you how happy that makes me. I know I’ve changed people’s lives for the better.

As for my least favorites, I have to say that I don’t really have any. All cases have challenges and I love challenges.

I first found you searching for good educational information on immigration cases in New York. I found your law firm everywhere on YouTube doing your radio show. In my opinion you are an excellent marketer. How many calls do you average a week for immigration cases?

Our firm averages between 250-to-350 calls a week from prospective clients.

What’s the name of your new immigration blog coming out soon (or is it live now)? Do you enjoy the marketing piece of your practice?

The name of the blog is Spar & Bernstein’s Law Link http://SBlawlink.com and it was launched on Nov 9th. And, yes, I thoroughly enjoy the marketing aspect of my business. It allows me to multi-task and wear a variety of hats, making my business life anything but monotonous. I also love imparting my lawyerly expertise and communicating directly to existing and potential clients on a regular basis. I find it very valuable.
